This month Loren started back working at the before and after school program. She has to take her temperature everyday before going into school. She likes getting a paycheck again, but is not too sure about being among so many people.
Last week I went into her room to say good night and she said she had a fever. I checked her temperature and it was 98.9. She usually runs a little low on that thermometer so it was a little higher than usual but I told her she was fine. It was just hot. She had the fan on in her room so she thought she should be colder, not hot. She wanted me to take her temperature again in a little while, so I said I would. When I took it a ½ hour later, it was 99.2. She whimpered a little, I told her not to worry, she was fine. Lou called out from his room, I have been telling her that for the last couple of hours. I guess she had been texting about it. The next morning, her temperature was fine.
She came in this morning, holding the thermometer and said, I think it’s broken. I asked why and she responded that her temperature was 93.7. So I asked if she had just had a cold drink. She had just brushed her teeth with cold water. I told her to wait a bit and take it again.
Turned out she was fine and off to school she went.
By the time this is over, Loren will be an expert at taking her temperature. In the meantime, she runs hot and cold.
Talk to you next month. Until then, may you be blessed with warmth in your home, love in your heart, peace in your soul and joy in your life.
